Another Pioneer Gone.
Mrs. Margaret Knowlton, widow of A. D. C. Knowlton died at the home of her son Alfred Knowlton, at his home in Merriam Park, St. Paul, Sunday, May 22, aged 90 years, and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Lime Springs, Tuesday of last week, the funeral services having been from the Presbyterian church of which deceased had been a member during her residence in Lime Springs. With her husband and family she came to this county in 1855, and located at the Old town of Lime Springs, building and living in the stone house, just east of the mill, her husband having been post master and keeping the post office there for several years. She had been a resident of this county from 1855 until she went to St. Paul to reside with her son Alfred, some six or eight years since. Her husband died many years ago at Lime Springs and was laid to rest in the cemetery at that place. The Surviving chil-dren are Mrs. Chesebro of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. A. P. Hewett of La., Joseph Knowlton of Arkansas City, Kansas, Mrs. G. J. Somsen and Mrs. H. E. Ober of Lime Springs, and Alfred Knowlton of Merriam Park. The deceased and her husband were among the most highly esteemed and worthy of the Pioneers who opened the way to settlement and growth of our county, and the children remaining are worthy representatives of their parentage.
