DIED.
BOND—In Cresco, March 5th, 1897{sic}, Betsey Bond, aged 94 years 2 months and 22 days.
The maiden name of deceased was Betsey Proctor, her native place was Proctorville, Vermont. She was united in marriage with Asa Bond, September 11, 1829. They came to this county in 1856, locating on the farm occupied by Joseph Kapler. They came to reside in Cresco shortly after the place was started he passing away twenty-seven years ago. Four children were born to them, Mrs. Edward Craghill of this place and Mrs. Hopkins of Rapid C'ty Dakota, being the only ones surviving. In early life Mr. and Mrs. Bond became devoted to the cause of the Universal salvation of mankind and espoused the faith of Universalism, both living lives worthy of the saints of God. There being no Universalist church here, she some years ago united by letter from the Universalist church of her native place with the Congregational church of Cresco. The funeral occured{sic{ Sunday the 6th from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Craghill. Rev. O. H. Holmes officiating-

Transcriber’s Note: The year of death is in error as the paper was published in 1898. Oak Lawn Cemetery records indicate she was born December 13, 1803.
