Death of Bertie Kellow.
Bertie Kellow has been growing worse for several days and as a last resort an operation was decided upon, which was performed yesterday forenoon by Dr. Wm. D. Middleton, of Davenport, professor of surgery at Iowa City, assisted by Dr, Hill, of Davenport, Drs. Kessell and Barrett also being present. The operation was successful but the shock was too great and in the course of a couple of hours he rapidly sank and passed away about one o’clock.
Bertie, though but a boy, had won the esteem of all and it is to be regretted that what pointed to a useful life has thus been cut short by the hand of Death. The sympathies of all are extended to the bereaved parents in their sad affliction.

Transcriber’s Note: There is an Albert Eugene Kellow buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery. He was born in 1880.
