The Elma Register reports the death of John Dormady, in Afton, on the 18 inst. Deceased was among the earliest settlers of the county. Some years ago he went to Vermont where he was working in the marble quarries, returning to Howard county some 25 years ago. He was poor but honest.

Transcriber’s Note: St. Patrick’s Cemetery shows John Dormedy buried there. (Note spelling) He was born March 20, 1839 and died December 18, 1895.
