Funeral services for Orville F. Clark will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday July 26, 2017 at LeRoy Lutheran Church with Rev Herman Bakker. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery near McIntire, IA. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy, MN.
Orville F. Clark, age 83, of Rochester passed away July 22, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – St Marys Campus in Rochester, MN. He was born in Howard County, IA near Riceville to Robert W. Clark and Hazel (Huddleston) Clark on November 7, 1933. He grew up and attended school in the LeRoy area graduating from LeRoy High School in 1952. Orville worked at LeRoy Produce and Mason City Brick and Tile; a year later, he moved to Rochester, MN and started working for Marigold Dairy/ Kemps Dairy as a route driver and supervisor. He continued working there for 45 ˝ years. For many years he spent weekends working for “Choke” and Jim Rowe at the Ready Mix Plant and visiting his mother in LeRoy.
In September of 1958 he was united in marriage to Shirley Freerksen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Together they made their home in Rochester, MN where they raised 5 children and many grandkids and great-grandkids. Orville liked to stay busy, whether it was working on his hobby farm, repairing lawn mowers, or teaching his grandkids and great-grandkids life lessons.
He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Shirley; his son, James “Jim” Clark and four daughters , Sheryl (David) Nelson, Shelly Clark, Judy Clark and Mary Becker. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Bob Clark, Michelle Nelson, Jenny Nelson (James Storlie), Jonathan (William) Nelson, Heather (Kyle) Eaton, Bill McAlister, Mike McAlister, Lori Ringen, Kevin (Carolyn) Becker, as well as 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Roy, Robert Jr., D. Joe, and Chester (Lois) as well as a grandson, Brian Clark.
