Gone to Rest.
The funeral services of Miss Mabel Libby, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. N. Libby, were held at the M. E. church, Cresco, Monday afternoon. Only a few short months ago Miss Mable{sic} left Cresco full of hope and ambition, for Cedar Falls, to complete her education at the State Normal and now her cold, inanimate body lies in Oaklawn. It seems sad that one so young and full of promise should be called home thus early in life.
Miss Libby was born in this vicinity about twenty years ago, and graduated at the Cresco high school in 1892, and was a remarkably bright girl. About three years ago her parents moved to Cedar Falls to be near their daughter, and to make a home for her while she attended the State Normal, from which she graduated. A short time ago she was stricken with the typhoid fever, and her constitution was too frail to resist the severe attack of the disease and she passed away Friday, Nov. 1st, at Cedar Falls. Her demise is the occasion of sadness among a large circle of friends and acquaintances and the whole community feel the deepest sympathy for the bereaved parents.—Republican.

Transcriber’s Note: Her last name is spelled Libbey in the Oak Lawn records and on her gravestone. Cemetery records indicate she was born March 9, 1875.
