Transcribed from: http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn87058075/1914-11-13/ed-1/seq-5/Frederick Macomber Fish was born Dec. 19, 1895, at Warrensburg, Mo., and died at the home of his parents in Cresco, Nov. 5, 1914.
Mr. Fish came to Iowa with his parents when but a small child and has since lived in Cresco. He has been sick for about two years fighting a combination of two diseases and these of late became too great a burden for him to bear and he slipped away to his reward on Thursday about 1 p. m. His mind was active to the very last and when he realized that he was going he asked his mother to thank all his friends for their kindnesses to him.
On Oct. 6, this year, Mr. Fish was baptised in the Christian faith, and publicly acknowledged Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Fred will be greatly missed by his own family and by his circle of friends, though he himself is better off with his Savior who has said, “He that comes unto me I will in no wise cast out.”
The funeral services were held at the home conducted by Rev. Will Kirwin of the Methodist church and burial was made at New Oregon cemetery.Card of Thanks.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to all neighbors and friends for their kindness shown us during the sickness and death of our son and brother; also we desire to express our gratitude to those who contributed beautiful music and floral offerings.
