Death of Lucy Costigan.
Cresco friends of the Costigan family were shocked to hear on Monday that Lucy, aged 24, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Costigan had died that morning.
She has been ill since March with what physician at Cresco, Oelwein and Strawberry Point diagnosed as nervousness. As she was getting no relief, on Saturday last she was taken to Iowa City where her parents were told that she was in a more serious condition than they realized, diagnosing the trouble as a tumor of the brain. An operation was planned for Monday morning, but she died before it could be performed.
The remains were brought to Cresco on Wednesday for interment in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
The sorrowing family have the sincere sympathy of a host of Cresco friends in their affliction.
