The funeral service of Mrs. Louise S. Fuller, one of the few remaining: pioneer settlers of Orleans township, was conducted last Sunday by Rev. Wm. F. Sylvester, pastor of Morgan church, where Mrs. Fuller, when strength and health permitted her to do so, attended with her son. A large number of friends and neighbors gathered first at the home of her son Andrew with whom she lived and where her last illness of about a week’s duration resulted in her death at the age of 84 years. 6 months and 23 days. At about 1:30 p. m., after brief services at the home the remains were taken to the Morgan church. Here practically every seat was filled with sympathizing friends and neighbors which was a fitting testimony in itself of the esteem in which this good woman had been held by everyone who knew her. . . . .

Mrs. Louise Sophia Earl was born at Brownville, Jefferson county, N.Y., October 6th, 1830. Her marriage to Cornelius Fuller occurred on July 12, 1855. Her husband died Sept. 7, 1891. Four children were born to this home, Mrs. John Greenhaigh of Cresco, Albert and Andrew of Orleans township, and Frank of Mason City.

In the spring of 1866 she moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa, and two years later to the farm homestead in Orleans township. Her illness which resulted in death was only about one week. She passed away May 29. The interment was at Oak Lawn. A good woman a true mother, a kind neighbor, she has filled her place in life in a quiet way, but her work has been well done.
