OBITUARY.
Fannie E. Sirrine was born at Reading, Conn., Aug. 4, 1836, and died May 17, 1914. Her early girlhood was spent in the East, and in 1864 she was married to John Middlebrook at Newton, Conn. In 1856 the couple immigrated to the West and settled on a homestead in Winneshiek county, Iowa, where they lived until 1876, when they moved to Chester with their family. In 1900 they moved to Cresco and lived there till Feb. 17, 1910 when the husband and father passed to his reward. After the death of her husband Mrs. Middlebrook made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Julia Johnson who gave her mother the tenderest care and most constant attention during her declining years and her final illness, as she lingered at the point of death for many weeks.
Mrs. Middlebrook is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Julia Johnson of Cresco, Mrs. Emma Woodmansee of Denver, Col., and Mrs. Ella Woodmansee of Kansas; and one son, Arthur Middlebrook of North Dakota, a number of grandchildren and many friends.
The funeral services were held at home of Mrs. Johnson, conducted by Rev. Will Kirwin of the Methodist church and interment was made at Oak Lawn cemetery.
