Dorothy R. Anderlik, age 87, of Lime Springs, Iowa, died Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Evans Home in Cresco.
Dorothy was born February 21, 1930 at Elma, Iowa, to Lester and Ida (Laue) Stevenson. She grew up attending area schools and graduated from Cresco High School in 1948. She then attended courses at Luther College and obtained her Teaching Certificate. For several years Dorothy taught in rural country schools. On April 6, 1951 she married Claire Anderlik at the Cresco United Methodist Church. For 42 years Dorothy and Claire farmed in the Cresco area. Dorothy was always active on the farm milking cows, grinding feed and her favorite was cultivating corn. They retired in 1995 and moved to Lime Springs. There they became members of the Lime Springs United Methodist Church of which she was active with the United Methodist Women's group. During retirement Dorothy enjoyed baking, gardening, doing counted cross-stitch and painting Claire's woodworking projects.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Claire of Lime Springs; a daughter: Cheryl (Loren) Bronner of Cresco; a son-in-law: James Perry of Cresco; three grandchildren: Brian Perry of Cross Plains, WI, Lyle Perry of Cresco and Alisha Perry of Cresco; two great-granddaughters: Chasidy and Jaya of Salem, MA; three sisters: Darlene (Larry) Jones of Yuma, AZ, Ida Gooden and special friend, Dan Nitti, of Inver Grove Heights, MN and Carol (Jesse) Hampton of Denver, CO. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Joyce Perry in 2014 and a brother, Lester Stevenson.
