Marlene Ellen (Prochaska) Pecinovsky, 75, of Protivin, Iowa passed away on Thursday January 12, 2017 in La Crosse, WI.

Marlene was born November 7, 1941 to Clarence and Helen (Hubka) Prochaska in Cresco, Iowa. She married Donald F. Pecinovsky on July 9, 1960 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. From this union three sons were born; Doug, Scott, and Ken. Marlene’s boys were her pride and joy and she was always watching out for them. She enjoyed music, spending her time farming with Donald, trying new recipes, and cooking large meals for her family and their hired hands. Marlene is remembered for her loving, caring and colorful personality. She loved animals and especially favored cats. She also loved watching the birds outside. Her favorite hobbies included playing cards, going for Sunday drives, mowing the lawn, and spending girl time with her friends Elmarie, Aggie, Elva, and Miriam. Marlene was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 50 years and a member of the “Domestic Executive” women’s club for 40 years.

She is survived by her three sons: Doug Pecinovsky of Cresco, IA; Scott Pecinovsky of Cresco, IA; and Ken Pecinovsky of Nashua, IA; her sister-in-law Barb Prochaska of Cresco, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen (Hubka) Prochaska, her husband Donald F. Pecinovsky on November 11, 1994, and her brother DJ Prochaska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday January 18, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, IA with Father Kyle Digmann presiding. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery Protivin, IA. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday January 17, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Protivin with a rosary service at 3:45 p.m. and a scripture service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
