Beverly Rea Counsell, age 83, of Cresco, died Friday, December 23, 2016, at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Cresco, Iowa, 310 North Elm Street, with Pastor Kayla Lange officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the east room of the First United Methodist Church in Cresco.

Beverly was born December 14, 1933, at Goldfield, Iowa, the daughter of Lenard and Gertrude (Jergensen) Cameron. She graduated from Osage Community High School in 1951, and also graduated from NIACC in Mason City as a medical assistant in 1977. Beverly married Marvin Rollins and to this union four children were born, they later divorced. On July 13, 1974, she married Ernest Carlin Counsell at the Methodist Church in Riceville. Beverly and her husband, Carlin, were owner/operators of Carlin’s Pizza in Cresco from 1978 to 1993. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, reading, and spending time with family.

Beverly is survived by her children, Garth Searcy of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Robin Emerson of Cresco and Joel (Nancy) Rollins of Owatonna, Minnesota; step-children, Ann (Alan) Steenhard of Mason City, Sharon Counsell of Nevada, Nancy (Gerry) Goebel of West Des Moines, Mike (Penny) Counsell of Osage, and Susan (Kenny) Hyke of Nevada; 7 grandchildren, 8 Step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Kim) Cameron of White Plains, Virginia; sister, Cheryl (John) Whalen of Dubuque; son-in-law, Ryan Becker of Cresco; and daughter-in-law, Ede Rollins of Decorah. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Carlin Counsell and Marvin Rollins; son, Mark Rollins; daughter, Kandice Becker; brother, Lynn Cameron; and infant brother, Neil Cameron.
