TIMES December 26, 1872 P3C3

A HOUSE OF SORROW---The family of Mr. Charles Brown of this place have been sorely afflicted by the death of their son WILLIE, which sad event occurred on Friday last, after an illness of less than two weeks. The death of Willie, who was one of the finest and most promising young men of our town, and a great favorite with all who knew him, has caused universal regret. He bore his illness with christian fortitude and though conscious of approaching death, seemed not to wish it averted, but expressed himself willing to die, having full faith in the Son of God, and entertaining a bright hope of future happiness. Those who listened to his exhorations and heard his good words, expecially to his young friends, will remember for years the bright testimony of his last hours. His tender "Good bye" and "meet me in Heaven" still linger in the hearts of all who visited him on Friday morning between the hours of 8 and 9 o'clock. But he lies in peace under a fair oak in the cemetery awaiting the last resurrection. The entire community deeply sympathize with the bereaved family.
