Mildred P. Riehle, 91, of Cresco, IA passed away Monday, December 28, 2015, at Evans Memorial Home Cresco, IA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2016, at Notre Dame Parish in Cresco, IA. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 404 North Elm Street, Cresco, IA 52136 with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the time of service Monday at the church.
Mildred Pauline Ira was born on June 13, 1924 daughter of Louis and Anna (Dostal) Ira near Protivin, IA. She graduated with the class of 1942 from Rudolphinum High School in Protivin. On November 16, 1944, Mildred married Fred W. Riehle Jr. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin. Mildred was a faithful member of Assumption Church and Notre Dame, Assumption Rosary Society, a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidering, crocheting afghans, and collecting and watching cardinals. Mildred loved baking rohlicky and kolaches for her family and playing card games with them. Mildred loved each and every one of her family, her many friends, and her faith. Mildred loved going to Florida every winter where it was warm and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. The family looked forward to the fish fries that occurred when she came back to Iowa to celebrate with the family.
Surviving Mildred are her children Darrell (Michaeleen) Riehle, Gerald “Jerry” (Genny) Riehle, and LaRita Ann Pierce all of Cresco, grandchildren Darren (Jolyn) Riehle, Darrelleen (Randy) Lewis, Denise (Jeremy) Hansmeier, Dennis (Tanya) Riehle, Desirae’ (Brent) Otto, Kellie (Jody Gunderson) Riehle, Kimberly (Nick) Krause, Ronald (Sara) Riehle, Jenilee (Cory) Schnell, Charles “Chuck” (Rebecca) Pierce, Tyler (Lindsey Barrett) Pierce, and great grandchildren Alexis Riehle, Coleton Riehle, Austin Jimbob Lewis, Gabriel Lewis, Benjamin Gunderson, Alexander Gunderson, Collin Krause, Dawson Krause, Caiden Krause, Kennady Riehle, Avery Riehle, Sierra Hansmeier, Shaina Hansmeier, Hadley Riehle, Harper Jo Riehle, MaKiah Pierce, Dylan Johnson, Keeaunna Wilson, Brooklyn Pierce, and Kingston Pierce.
Preceding her in death are her parents Louis and Anna (NaNa) Ira, husband Fred Jr., son-in-law Michael Pierce, and mother-in-law Gertrude Riehle.
