Chas Wessel of Paris township retired at about 9 o'clock last Wednesday in his usual health, and in one hour was dead. His wife heard him making an unusual noise, called him and getting no answer called the hired man, and herself ran to John Derr's for help, who was there before ten o'clock and found him dead. Dr. Roome was called, arriving there about 3 o'clock, but of course there was nothing he could do. Mr. Wessel was about 33 years of age, and leaves a wife and one child, a boy about 3 years old. His funeral was held Saturday, the burial taking place in New Oregon cemetery, the services having been conducted by Rev. Chr. Niedermier and Rev. Wm. Cummings.
