BARTHOLOMEW.—At the home of her son, in this township, Aug. 22, 1893, Mrs. Eliza Bartholomew, aged 82 years, 9 months and 8 days.

Deceased was born in Nottinghamshire, England, where she was married with George Bartholomew, with whom she came to Canada about fifty years ago, removing from there to Iowa, locating in Winneshiek county, where they resided for eleven years, removing to this county in 1865, settling upon a farm in the town of New Oregon, where she lived until last fall when the son and daughter with whom she made her home, bought and moved onto the Archer farm where she died. Her husband died some three years ago last February, and was burried{sp} in New Oregon cemetery where her remains were laid beside him. She nor her husband had any relatives in this country but the three children which survive them, George, Andrew and Susannah, all living in this township. They as are the surviving members of the family, were good and worthy people, held in high esteem by all who knew them.
