Jeannie Heide, 87, of Cresco, IA passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. Regina “Jeannie” Mae Heide and her twin brother were born on October 20, 1927, in Howard County, Iowa to Phillip and Esther (Hayes) Kach. The baby boy went to sleep when he was two days old. She attended country schools. Jeannie was united in marriage to Kenneth Heide. To this union five children were born. Jeannie worked in the fields and cared for the livestock along with her husband on the family farm where she lived for 64 years. She also worked 15 years as the checkout clerk for the Ben Franklin Dime Store in Cresco where she enjoyed helping and visiting with her customers, and people loved her. She worked for a number of years as a bartender for her father-in-law at Heide’s Bar on Elm Street in Cresco where she also enjoyed visiting with her customers. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the ladies aide and circles, as well as a Luther League Leader. She was also a member of the New Oregon Neighbors Women Farm Bureau Club, a 4-H leader, and a Den Mother for Scouts. When Jeannie was young, she loved dancing and horses. Jeannie enjoyed keeping her bird feeders full and keeping track of her cardinals and other birds that came for a snack was one of her favorite hobbies. She was a wonderful seamstress and loved working in her large vegetable and flower garden. She was a very good cook and baker and loved to prepare food for family gatherings. What she enjoyed the most was preparing for family holiday meals and would make six different homemade pies so everyone had a piece of their favorite kind of pie. Jeannie is survived by her four children: Sharon (Wayne) Ollendieck of Cresco, IA, Shirleen (Keith) Jackson of Clinton, IA, Kevin Heide of Cresco, IA, and Sharla (Jeff) Berns of Ridgeway, IA, eight grandchildren: Jill (Gene) Bries, Sally (Brian) Peter, Jena (Tony) Lehrman, Lance Ollendieck, Heide (Branden) Sletteland, Justin Jackson, Kendra and Kody Berns, eleven great grandchildren: Hunter and Spencer Bries, Mason, Laney, and Mitchell Peter, Kaylee, Owen, and Jase Lehrman, Karli, Tori and Laci Sletteland, her sister Betty (Don) Friedrich and a brother Leonard (Lorraine) Kach both of Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant son, her husband Kenneth in 1988, twin infant brother, an infant brother, and a brother, LaVern Kach.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 14 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, Iowa, as well as one hour prior to services at the church.Service:
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, Iowa.Cemetery:
