Mary Ellen Wheeler, age 88, of Cresco, Iowa died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco. Mary Ellen Wheeler was born Feb 13, 1927 in Cresco to Edward and Mary (Crawford) Wheeler. She attended Cresco area schools, graduating from Cresco High School in 1945. Early in her life she worked at Howard Cleaners for several years. Mary Ellen later started to do cleaning at local businesses including the clinic for Drs. Bud Klingle, Dean Nierling, Tom Kafka where she became interested in the Medical Field and then worked for them as a Nurse for many years. She loved hunting small game, fishing and playing guitar. Her long-time close friend Bill Koudelka would often accompany her when hunting and fishing. Over the years she was a care-taker for many of her relatives. Mary Ellen is survived by many Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings: Hazel Prochaska, Marvel Wentworth, Violet Wentworth, Lucille Wheeler, Winifred Nelson, Dorothy Herold, Wilma Schorr, Edward Wheeler, William Wheeler and Paul Wheeler.

10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco.

Service:
11:10 am on Monday, February 23, 2015 Graveside at New Oregon Cemetery, rural Cresco.
