Suicide in Howard Center.

Mr. Thomas Kelly, late of Howard Center committed suicide by shooting himself in the head at his late home last Tuesday night. He has been considered by his friends as rather unbalanced in mind for some years, his hallucination seemed to have been that his property was liable to be stolen. With this idea uppermost in his mind, it was no uncommon thing for him to go forth in the night and discharge fire arms about the premises several times. Tuesday night he went out and his family heard his gun discharged but thought nothing of it. Not returning, at daylight he was found dead out side the house. He was somewhere about 60 years of age and was well to do in the world having a large and valuable farm well stocked.

Transcriber's Note: Calvary Cresco cemetery records indicate Mr. Kelly was born in 1834 and died March 2, 1892.
