DIED.
LENT—In Cresco, Iowa, Jan. 31, 1892, Helen M., wife of Alpheus D. Lent, aged 67 years.
Mrs. Helen M. Lent was born in Poughkeepsie, Duchess county, N. Y., February, 1825. At the age of 18 years she became a member of the Reformed Dutch Church, Hyde Park, N. Y., to which place her father, Thomas Parker had previously moved. She was married to Alpheus D. Lent in 1852 and came with her husband to Cresco in 1868.
She was a woman of domestic habits, a devoted wife, an indulgent mother, a kind neighbor, a true friend and an exemplary Christian.
Her husband and five children survive her: Frank Lent of New Jersey; Mrs. Minnie Angell of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.; W. B. Lent, of Arkansas City, Kansas; Charles P. Lent and Miss Mary Lent, Cresco. The bereaved family and relatives have the sympathy of all.
After a brief service at the house on Tuesday, the funeral services were held in the Congregational Church, of which denomination she was a member, Rev. James Oakey officiating. There was a large attendance of mourning and sympathizing friends.
The floral tributes from the church and Sunday school (of which her husband is superintendent) were beautiful, consisting of cut flowers, roses, narcissuses, white lilacs, lilies of the valley, calla lilies and smilax.
