DIE.,--C. W. Hanchett, aged 57 years last June, died of dropsy, Dec. 7, 1889, at his home in Oakdale Iowa, after a lingering illness of many months.

He was born in Ohio and came to Wisconsin with his parents when a boy of ten or twelve years old, where he grew up to manhood and married his wife who survives him. He came with Lyman Palmerton to Iowa, 34 years ago and located his present home and moved on to it 33 years ago last September. There were six children the fruits of this union, all of whom survive him except one daughter, and all are here of his immediate family except Jonah and Jackson, who reside in Dakota. He was one of those quiet even dispositioned persons whose entire acquaintance were his friends. His funeral was conducted by Rev. O. E. Brown on Monday, at the residence, from there the remains were taken and deposited by kind friends and neighbors in the Le Roy Cemetery. The family and friends have the sympathy of all in this their great bereavement.—{Le Roy Independent.
