Arleen Perry, age 92, of Cresco, Iowa passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at Cresco Care Center in Cresco, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at Notre Dame Parish, 116 E. 3rd St. Cresco, IA 52136. Burial will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery Schley, IA. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the time of the service Friday at the church. Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home 404 N Elm Street, Cresco, IA, is in charge of arrangements.

Arleen M. Vopava was born on January 27, 1922, in Cresco, daughter of William and Mary (Martinek) Vopava. She graduated from Cresco High School in 1939. Arleen worked as assistant secretary for the high school superintendent, and then the county superintendent for seven years. She was a member of the Protivin American Legion Auxiliary for 75 years. Arleen married Leslie Perry on February 3, 1948, at Holy Trinity Church, Protivin, IA. They had one daughter. The couple lived on a farm in the Lime Springs area for 3 years, and later on a farm near Cresco.

She is survived by her daughter Karen (Gilbert) Chrome, grandson Charles, and great grandson Weston all of Arlington, TX.

She is preceded in death by her husband in 1988, her parents, infant brother Edmund.
