DIED.

In Cresco, Howard county, Iowa, Nov. 3, 1889, Sarah F. Howard, widow of John B. Howard, aged 79 years last February.

Mrs. Howard was among the very earliest settlers in Howard county, coming here from near Napierville, Illinois, and settling upon a farm in New Oregon, where she resided until after the death of her husband, some ten years since. She leaves surviving her three children, Wm. Howard, residing in Cresco, her daughter Sarah, wife of John W. Mitchell, residing at New Hampton, Mrs. E. B. Wildman, residing near the old homestead in New Oregon, and Mrs. Preston R. Beach, also residing in New Oregon, and a large number of other relatives. Mrs. Howard was sick but a few days and until near her last hours, was not considered in any immediate danger. She was a good frugal housewife who always did her whole duty by her neighbors, all of whom sorrow that she should be removed from her family and friends.
