DIED.

HILL—Entered into rest on the morning of Ash Wednesday, March 6th, 1889 at her home at Lime Springs, Ia., of heart disease, Catharine Cummins Hill, wife of the late Bradford Hill, aged 75 years and 9 months.

Catharine Cummins was born in St. Catharines, Canada West, June 6, 1813. The war of 1812 being then in progress, her parents, who were in sympathy with the American cause, removed to Warsaw, Genessee Co., N. Y., when she was but two weeks of age, where she resided until her marriage with Bradford Hill, Aug. 21st, 1831. They removed to Wisconsin in 1841, being the first settlers in Waterloo, where she lived 20 years and since 1868, has lived at Lime Springs. During her residence here of 21 years she has endeared herself to all her acquaintances and is held in remembrance as the cheerful and pleasant companion, the strong and willing helper in sickness and the sympathizing friend in times of bereavement. Though a sufferer for many years her faith and courage were the wonder and admiration of her many friends, and her children revere the memory of the dear mother whose love was ever theirs. “She hath done what she could.”

The funeral services, on Thursday, were largely attended; Rev. A. S. McConnell of Cresco officiating; text, “To die is gain.”
