IN MEMORIAM.

Cora L. Mulholland

Cora Loomis Mulholland of Cresco, Iowa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Field, was born in Onandaga county, N. Y., Jan. 15th 1851, united in marriage with John Mulholland, at her father’s residence Nov. 20th 1872. She and her husband united with the Universalist Church of Castalia, Iowa, in 1881. She lived and died in that large faith, the final salvation of all mankind. She passed to the higher life Oct. 13th 1888. At the age of three years she, with her parents, removed to Vernon Springs, Howard county, Iowa. She was one of the brightest students, and in after years was a great reader of all standard works. Her interest in all questions of public importance was very great. For many years she was a great sufferer, but seldom complained, and bore her agony with great patience and even cheerfulness. She hoped to find relief by a surgical operation, but it only hastened by a few months her final leave-taking of earthly things. Death had no terrors for her, but as she expressed it, “merely a step from one room into another.” An ernest Christian, a true friend, an affectionate daughter and sister, has laid her burden down. Her husband, a son and daughter, are left to mourn the irreparable loss of a kind and loving wife and mother. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Alex. S. McConnel, assisted by Rev. G. W. Fall, at the family residence, Oct. 15th 1888, and was largely attended by old time friends and neighbors. COM.
