The death of William M. Newton occurred Monday morning at his home on Lake View avenue in Jamestown. He was born in Norwich, N. Y., October 30, 1827, consequently was in his sixtieth year at the time of his death. Thirty-seven years ago he came to Jamestown and read law with the famous Madison Burnell, subsequently removing to Iowa, where he was elected district attorney of the county in which he lived. After seven years in Iowa, he returned to Jamestown where he has since resided. He leavs{sp} a wife and two children. The cause of his death was typhoid fever, with which he had been ill only a few weeks.--Sugar Groves News April 14th.
