Obituary.
FARRINGTON,--In Lime Springs, Jan. 18, 1887, C. L. Farrington senior member of the firm of C. L. Farrington & Son, who was about 69 years of age.
Mr. C. L. Farrington was born September 30, 1818, in LaFayette, Onondago Co. New York. In 1837 he came to Wisconsin, and after residing in Milwaukee one year, he went to Lenawee Co. Michigan and followed farming for eleven years, in the fall of 1849 he came back to Wisconsin and located on a farm near Wyocena village, where he lived until the spring of 1857, when he moved to the village and built a store in company with his brother E. W. Farrington, and sold dry goods there for four years, from thence he went to Harrisville, built a grist mill and carried on business for 21 years. He sold out in January 1876, and returned to Wyocena Wisconsin, and again went into the mercantile business in company with his son Willard. He came to Lime Springs Iowa, in 1883, and with his son went into business, which they were engaged in at the time of his death, which occurred on the 18th, day of January 1887, in the 69th year of his age. He was married to miss Mary Loddell, March 26th 1853, and leaves her and two sons to mourn his loss. In early life he professed religion and joined the congregational church, and remained in its communion until he came to Lime Springs, when he united with the Methodist Episcopal church and held official relations with the same at the time of his transfer to the church triumphant. He was a good and true man, and consistently christion{sp} in his every day life. His departure is a great loss to his family, the church and the community. His obsequies were conducted by Rev. J. M. Ferris, of Decorah, at the Methodist church, in Lime Springs, Iowa, on the 21st inst., and attended by a large congregation of sympathising friends.
