DIED,

REEVES,--At the residence of Amos Harris, in Orleans, Winneshiek county, Iowa, February 27th 1886, William Reeves, in the 32 year of his age.

The deceased was born in Farmington, Warren county, Penn., on the 8th of April 1854, removing with his mother, then a widow, to Iowa when about ten years of age. He was an honest, industrious, conscientious man, true to all his engagements. About one year since, while serving as engineer in the Cresco steam mill, he had a serious attack of bleeding at the lungs, returning to his work when but partially recovered, the trouble was brought on again, terminating in consumption and death. After his last sickness had set in he united with Grace Episcopal Church, receiving baptism at the hands of Rev. Mr. Rynard, and the holy communion from Mr. Hope, Lay Reader of Grace Church. He is the third of the family who has died of lung difficulties in the past four or five years. Earl, Mary and now Willie, leaving surviving a brother and sister, George, and Eliza, wife of Ed. Harris. His long and painful sickness which was borne uncomplainingly, had used up the earnings of his labor, except his interest in some property on Railroad street, which perhaps will be adequate for his doctor bills and his funeral expenses. His funeral was from the home of his mother on Sunday, his remains being deposited in the Oakwood cemetry,{sp} near town.

Transcriber’s Note: Cemetery records show he is buried at Oak Lawn Cemetery
