Irene Dvorak

Irene Dvorak, 83, of Protivin, died Monday, June 14, 1999, at the Howard County Hospital in Cresco after a long illness.

A funeral mass was held Wednesday, June 16, at 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, with the Rev. Allen Schmitt officiating.

Marlene Pecinovsky was the organist. Colleen Busta was the soloist.

Casket bearers were David Dvorak, Don Koudelka, Mark Raimann, Steve Busta, Dean Hubka and Will Zibert.

Interment was the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Protivin. The Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Irene (Cisar) Dostal was born in rural Protivin Dec. 1, 1915, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Hovorka) Cisar. She attended Protivin schools.

Irene was married to Clarence Dvorak June 2, 1941, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin. They farmed near Protivin, moving to town after retirement. She had been residing at the Evans Nursing Home in Cresco the last few years.

Irene was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic church in Protivin.

Survivors include one sister, Mildred Dostal of Protivin; one niece, Lana (Will) Zibert of Austin, Minn.; 3 great-nieces, Amy (Will) Zibert of Mankato, Minn., Anne (Jason) Smith of Winona, Minn., and Lisa Zibert of Austin, Minn.; and 3 sisters-in-law, Genevieve Dvorak of Decorah, Mayme Vopava of Spillville, and Lorraine (Ben) Busta of Protivin.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1994 and by her parents.
