DIED.

COLE.—In Cresco, Iowa, Thursday, February 22, 1883, Mrs. Susan Cole, aged about 69 years.

The deceased, whose maiden name was Susan Crawford, was born in New Jersey, emigrating to New York State; was married in 1834, and removed in to Warren county, Penn., from whence she removed to Naperville, Illinois; from thence removing to Howard county in the early summer of 1854. From that time to the present she has remained within the county, never having been beyond its limits, we are told. Thus one by one the early settlers of the county are crossing the river of death. There are but few remaining who settled in the county at so early a date. The deceased was the mother of seven children, all grown to manhood and residents of this county, all of whom were attentive and ministering to the comfort and wants of their aged and worthy mother, during her last brief illness. The deceased was an exemplary wife and mother, true to the duties she owed her children and family and faithful to the sacred trust to the last. Tenderly and lovingly, her body was committed to earth; triumphantly her spirit returned to the God who gave it.
