DIED.

SLOAN:--In Kyle, Hayes county, Texas of spinal mennigetis{sp}, Oct. 27, 1882, E. B. Sloan aged about 55 years.

The deceased was one of the early settlers of this county removing to Texas a little over a year since. He was universally respected, and his numerous friends and friends of the family extend condolence and sympathy.

DIED.

On Sunday, October 22, E. B. Sloan, in the 56th year of his age.

Mr. Sloan was born in the state of Ohio, where he remained until twenty years of age, thence he went into Indiana where he married, afterwards moved to Iowa where he remained for twenty-seven years. About one year ago he left that state for Texas, where he arrived in December last. Soon after, bought property and settled in Kyle. Only a few months since he lost a favorite daughter, and it seemed that he never revived from the shock then sustained. Mr. Sloan was a good business man, and made many friends among the people with whom he was associated. He leaves a large family to mourn his loss and sincerely do we sympathise with them, in this their heaviest affliction.—{The Nutshell, (Kyle, Texas.)
