ELMA - Mass of Christian Burial for Wallace F. Fair of Elma, Iowa was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elma.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to the time of the service on Wednesday at the church.
Wallace, 90, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
Wallace Francis Fair was born April 9, 1923 on a farm near Elma, Iowa the son of Walter and Stella (Keefe) Fair. He attended and graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Elma.
On March 1, 1943, he married Helen Frantzen at St. Bernard's Church in Alta Vista. They farmed while raising their six children. Wallace enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends and family. He and Helen spent 70 years together dancing, bowling and traveling the country.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Knights of Columbus, ASC Board, and the Peoples Savings Bank board.
Wallace is survived by his wife: Helen of Elma; children: Joyce (Dan) Regan of Charlotte, N.C., Leo (Janet) Fair of Bloomington, Minn., Linda (Peter) Parshley of Lonsdale, Minn., Marylee (Francis) Campion of Oronoco, Minn. and Jean (Herbert Brust) Nelson of Trego, Wis.; 18 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son: Patrick; and his parents.
