DIED.

CLARK.—In Cresco Howard County Iowa; Mrs. Susan A. wife of Sidney H. Clark of said County, and daughter of Martin Johnson: upon Christmas Eve 1880, aged about 42 years.

White-winged and yet with most deep sorrow laden, comes the Death-Angel, announcing this time the decease of Mrs. Clark.

We wondered not, but in meek submission calm our troubled minds to Supreme will, and think in mildest patience as we remember her, “such are the chosen ones of God.”

The grandeur of human life is most eminently exemplified in the silent, useful and busy merit of domestic occupation. The greatest heroines are those, of whom the world knows little.

For this departed, who in comparison with all others, in wifely and womanly motherhood was unexcelled; there are Divine promises of eternal blessedness.

A beautiful life, a lovely presence, earnest devotion in her existence to all the purities of Christ’s high behests; all these, exemplified in her character and influence, constitute a marvel and a glory of excellence. She has gone, to wear happier and brighter decorations than these of Earth and home. The commendation of God “well done, good and faithful servant,” has already Heaven’s glorious record responded to the tears of her relatives and friends, and in His good keeping her soul rests now forever.
