Sudden Death.

Mr. Wm. Mead, well known in Beloit as for many years connected in one capacity or another with the warehouse and shipping business, and for some time latterly in the employ of Messrs. Miller & Adams, died very suddenly last Monday night. Mr. Harry Adams and he were engaged in the yards of the W. U. R. R., moving some cars, and about nine o'clock, Harry gave him instructions to take a car to a certain place. He failed to appear as expected, and after calling to him repeatedly, Harry went to see what was the trouble, and found Mr. Mead sitting on the ground, unable to speak. He secured help immediately, had him removed to the depot and sent at once for Dr. Strong, but when the Doctor arrived shortly after, he was already dead.

Mr. Mead has been a faithful employe of Mr. C. Miller a large share of the time for the last seventeen years. He leaves a wife and two children. The cause of his death is supposed to have been an apoplectic fit. His father died the same way, and Mr. M., had suffered from two fits before.--Beloit Free Press, Jan. 10, 1878.
