DIED.

MILDRUM.--In Riceville, Iowa, September 30th, 1878, ORRIN MILDRUM, aged 49 years.

For more than twenty-two years a resident of Howard county, his record is in the hearts of all who knew him. Filling, as he did, offices of public trust, he always showed rare courage and integrity, and was understood to be an unflinching advocate of right. Large hearted, unselfish, tenderly helpful, "always ready to every good work," a whole community mourns its irreparable loss, and extends its warmest sympathy to the suddenly stricken widow. He passed away quietly, resting upon the Savior whom he loved.
