DIED.

MERRY--In Paris township, Howard county, Iowa, March 16, 1878, Hiram Merry, in the 73d year of his age.

Mr. Merry was among the early settlers in this county having moved into the county in June 1856. He was an honorable, upright conscientious man, a good neighbor, friend, and useful citizen. With the children of the deceased and his aged life partner in their great affliction we deeply sympathize.
