HAZELTINE--In Jamestown, N. Y. April 1, 1877, Matilda Hayward, wife of Hon. Abner Hazeltine, aged 77 years and 9 months.

The deceased was among the early settlers of Jamestown, having made that place her home as early as 1830. In 1834 she became the wife of Abner Hazeltine, who for many years was a leading attorney of the place, member of congress, and who survives her and is in active office business though he has reached the advanced age of 83 years. Jamestown had no better, truer, purer woman than the deceased and her sons and daughters who survive her are but living mementoes of the worth of such a mother.
