DIED.

PALMETER.--At the residence of Theron E. Palmeter, three and one-half miles east of Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo county, Iowa, August 1, 1876, Josiah Palmeter, aged about 91 years.

The deceased like Mr. Ingersoll, who died the same day in the same county, was one of the first men we remember to have seen, when, forty-five years ago, with our parents, we moved into the town of Busti, Chautauqua county, N. Y. Within the past two months we have been called upon to record in these columns the departure of a score or more of these who in the prime of life and the vigor of manhood, when we were a lad, all having reached more than the three score years and ten, allotted to man.
