Wanda M. Carolan, 75, of Cresco, Iowa died on Monday, August 26, 2013 at home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 404 North Elm Street, Cresco, Iowa 52136, with Father Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Wanda M. Carolan was born on March 30, 1938 to Thomas and Stella (Mauer) Carolan in Howard County, Iowa. She graduated from Crestwood High School, and received her Bachelors in Education from Upper Iowa University. Her first teaching job was in Martelle, Iowa school district in 1958. Wanda spent most of her career in the Osage, Iowa elementary school, retiring after 40 years of teaching. Wanda enjoyed sewing, crafts, and traveling. She was very devoted to the Catholic faith, often watching Mass on TV.

Her brothers, Wayne (Alice) Carolan of Cresco, Iowa, Neil (Linda) Carolan of Tucson, Arizona, a niece and nephew, and numerous cousins, survive Wanda.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and older sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Carolan.
