A Memorial Mass for Thelma F. Tracey will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2007 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Snohomish, under the direction of Bauer Funeral Chapel, Snohomish.
Thelma, 78, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 after a long battle with cancer.
Thelma Florence Woods was born June 16, 1929 in Cresco, IA. She played basketball on Cresco's Assumption High School championship teams in 1945 and 1946 and was co-valedictorian of the class of 1946. After working for the phone company in Iowa for two years after high school, Thelma moved to Seattle, WA where she met Raymond P. Tracey, her husband of almost 53 years, and raised her family. She worked for many years at the Seattle Yacht Club. After Thelma and Ray retired, they moved to Lake Roesiger, wintering in their trailer in the southwest United States for many years.
Survivors include daughter: Kathleen Tracey; Son: William Tracey of Seattle; daughter: Christine Tracey of Portland , OR; daughter: Susan Grasdahl of Edmonds: son and daughter-in-law: Timothy and Shari Tracey of Shoreline; son and daughter-in-law: Douglas and Julie Tracey of Irvine, CA; grandchildren: Andrew Grasdahl, Zachary, Ashley, Sean, Victoria and Mackenzie Tracey; Daniel Hawkins; Lauren and Andrew Wills; Jesse (Wills) and Jason Harrison; great-granddaughter: Abigail Harrison; and brothers: William Woods of Arlington, Donald "Ike" Woods of Lake Roesiger, and Ronald Woods of Lake Havasu City, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 2003.
