Patricia Berst, 88, of Cresco, Iowa passed away in the early hours of Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa. Pat was born on April 24, 1925 in Schley, Iowa to Art & Iva (Swenson) Huber. She attended Rudolphinum School in Protivin, Iowa, and graduated from Cresco High School. She enjoyed playing basketball during her school years. She married Manley Leitz in March of 1942. To this union 5 children were born, Christy, Allen, Donna, David, and Rhonda. Manley passed away in September of 1983. She later married Melvin Berst, and they later divorced. Pat worked with her father at Pioneer Corn, then later worked at a dietician for the Cresco Hospital and the Cresco Care Center. She loved watching hummingbirds, fishing in her younger years, going to girls basketball games, needlework, reading, and spending time with her family during gatherings. She is survived by her four children, Allen (Betty) Leitz, Donna (Lowell) Huber, David (Sherry) Leitz, and Rhonda (Dean) Kupka, a sister, Phillis Dotzenrod-Lewis, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Manley Leitz, a daughter Christy Luoma, a daughter-in-law Martha Leitz, one sister Maxine Brackin, and three brothers, Don, Norb, and Kenny Huber.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, IA from 4-7 p.m. where there will be a 7 p.m. scripture service.

No other services will be held.

Private family burial will take place at a later date at the St. Matthews Cemetery in Granger, MN.
