Lloyd Tuchek, former Cresco resident, dies

Lloyd Henry Tuchek was born May 23, 1924 in Cresco the son of Joseph and Esther (Ferrie) Tuchek. He grew up in the Cresco area, graduating from Cresco High School in 1943. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific.

On August 14, 1948, he married Gerry Leas in Cresco. They moved to Ellsworth on July 4, 1964. He worked at the Thompson Hatchery as a supervisor, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Jewell and the American Legion Post in Cresco.

Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, and feeding and watching birds and squirrels.

He is survived by his R. Geraldine of Ellsworth; two daughters: Mary Beth Grove and Kathleen R. Eittreim, both of Ellsworth; one son: James Lee of Jewell; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one brother: David; and one sister Ruth Tuchek, both of Cresco.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers: John, Joseph and Rudy.
