Charles B. Pickett aged 62 years, died suddenly at his home, 704 West Bridge street at 4:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon from dilation of the heart due to intense heat. He had been out riding in his car and not feeling well when he arrived home he laid down on a couch and passed away shortly after.

Mr. Pickett was born near South Bend, Ind., January 9 1860. He moved with his parents to Preston, Minn., in 1869. In February, 1885, he was married to Jennie E. West of Howard county, Iowa. They moved to Howard county in 1890 and resided there until March, 1921, when they moved to Austin which has since been their home.

He is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. Maude Evelyn Dennis of San Diego, Calif., Leslie G. of San Francisco, Calif., Lloyd A. and Alice L. of Austin. One daughter Avis L. died March 2, 1908. He also leaves a brother, J.H. Pickett of Preston, Minnesota.

Mr. Pickett was employed with the International Harvester company for twenty-five years. He was a member of the M.W.A. lodge of Riceville, Iowa.
