Funeral services for Lewis E. Phillips, age 80, a life-long resident of the Bonair community, who died Sunday morning in the home near Bonair where he had lived for more than 70 years, were held in Cresco yesterday afternoon.
The services were conducted by the Rev. G. W. Turner, pastor of the Cresco and Bonair Methodist churches, in the Bradley Funeral home. Burial was in the Phillips cemetery, northwest of Bonair.
Lewis E. Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Phillips, was born on the Elder farm near Bonair, November 15, 1868. His father built the “Stone House” into which the family moved when Lewis was five years old.
