Leslie Perry, 82, services held Friday

Funeral services for Leslie H. Perry, 82, were held at 10:00 a.m. June 24 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Schley. The Rev. Louis J. Trzil officiated with interment in the church cemetery. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was dead on arrival at the Howard County Hospital on June 21, 1988 of a heart attack.

Leslie H. Perry was born March 21, 1906 in Howard county to Herbert L. and Belle (Young) Perry. He attended the rural school and graduated from Cresco High School.

Leslie married Arleen Vopava on February 3, 1948 in Holy Trinity Church. They were the parents of one daughter. Leslie farmed in the area all of his life.

Survivors are his wife of rural Cresco; daughter, Karen Chrome of Boling Brook, IL and a brother, Chester of rural Cresco.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harry and Tom; and four sisters, Madge Fish, Florence McAvinchy, Helen Richards and Edith Miller.
