Wm. Stopperan’s mother and three sisters, from Postville, came up Tuesday morning to be present at the funeral of their little granddaughter and niece, Elsie Stopperan.
After a lingering illness of about four weeks little Elsie Stopperan, aged five years and several months, passed away Sunday evening, June 26th. The funeral services were conducted at the house by Rev. Neidermier Tuesday afternoon, and a large number of relatives and friends were present to pay their last tribute to the little form laid in a beautiful casket bedecked with flowers. She was laid to rest at the Howard Center cemetery beside her little brother Willie who preceded her one year and a half. We extend our sincere sympathy to the bereaved parents and her only sister, Tina, and other relatives who did everything that willing hands could do for her, but all was in vain.
Only but for a little time
To cheer your pathway and gladden your home,
God has called her to that glorious clime
To live with Him ever beyond the tomb.‘Tis so hard to part with these tender plants
That blossom awhile with our tenderest care;
They lighten our burdens and solace our griefs,
In the sunshine of home so bright and fair.“Thy will be done;” it seems hard to say
When a loved form is carried away from our sight.
Let us live that we may meet her there
In the glorious realms of eternal light.A Friend
