Michael Frederick Mohr was born at Weevarge, Pomerania, Germany, Oct. 21, 1833, and was soon after baptized in the name of the triune God. Having completed the prescribed seven years course in the public schools, and after due instruction, he was confirmed in the Lutheran Church of which he remained a staunch, zealous and faithful member to the end. Like all able bodied men, deceased was obliged to enter the Prussian army and serve his country for three years, which he did from 1854 to 1857

In 1872, he was married with Louisa Radtke. This union was blessed with 5 children, 2 dying in earliest infancy, 2 sons and a daughter surviving him. During the same year, he emigrated to America and located at Williamsburg, New York, where he remained for three years, from which he moved to Watertown, Wisconsin. In 1871, he took up his abode in this County on the farm now owned by his son Louis.

Although a hard worker, he lost his all during the years of the wheat failure and was obliged to commence anew. Since 1890, when the death of his wife occurred, Mr. Mohr has lived with his children. Gifted with an iron constitution, he had always enjoyed good health until Christmas last, when he commenced to fail. At daybreak of February 7th, his end came and peacefully he passed away.

The funeral was from the Davis Corners church with interment in the Howard Center Cemetery, on Saturday last.
