Marcella A. Tlusty, 92, of Cresco, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Cresco Care Center, Cresco, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Dennis Cahill officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 404 North Elm St., Cresco, Iowa, a scripture service will be held at the end. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Marcella A. Moudry was born on July 19, 1920 to Frank and Elizabeth (Lukes) Moudry in Howard County. On October 15, 1941, Marcella married John Tlusty at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, IA. Together they ran Johnnie's Jack Sprat grocery store on North Elm Street for several years. Marcella and John were married for 63 years before John's passing in 2004. Marcella was a wonderful cook, baker, creative shopper, enjoyed reading, and word find puzzles. She loved music especially listening to polka bands. Marcella was involved with her church, helping out with several church events. Marcella was a compassionate and giving person who loved spending time with her grandchildren and other children. Surviving Marcella are her daughter, Betty (David) Kupka of Waukon, IA, 2 grandchildren, Chad Ryan of Cresco, IA, and Laura Ryan of Fort Dodge, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Moudry, husband, John, and brother, Leonard Moudry. Online condolences may be left at www.hindthudekfuneralhomes.com
