Mrs. Will Huber

Mrs. Wm. J. Huber died at her home at 119 Third Avenue S. W. at three o’clock Monday morning, March 10, 1940, after being in ill health for some time past. She was bedridden the last three weeks.

The body was taken to the Peckosh funeral home where it remained until the funeral which was held at eight o’clock this morning in St. Joseph’s church. The Rev. A. C. Woerdehoff, pastor of the church officiated. Burial was in St. Augustine cemetery at Austin, Minn.

Mrs. Huber’s maiden name was Rose Huber. She was born at Spillville, Ia., Oct. 20. 1870, the daughter of John and Magdelina Huber, both of whom are deceased.

On Feb. 24, 1892, she was married to Wm. J. Huber at Spillville. Seven children, four sons and three daughters were born to them. One son, Gabriel, died in infancy and one daughter, Martha, who was Mrs. Owen Cambern, died eight years ago. Surviving are Michael J. and Ralph G. Huber, both of Austin, Minn.; Leo of South St. Paul; Gertrude, Mrs. George Spilger and Bertha, Mrs. Emil Bauman, both of Milwaukee, Wis. All of the children were here for the funeral.

She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Joe Huber of Fort Atkinson, John and George Huber of Spillville, Frank Huber of Charles City, Mrs. Joseph Skoda of Protivin and Mrs. John Zoulek of Spillville.

Mr. and Mrs. Huber and family came to Cresco 29 years ago. They have lived in Kansas, Minnesota and other places before moving here.
